This programme is designed to help participants deal with financial worries in an easy-to-follow and interactive format. It has been customized to take into consideration the current economic situation, and its direct effect on most people’s lives. The programme involves both CORE and Elective Modules to ensure that participants are equipped with the essential information as well as have the choice to learn the appropriate workshops of their interest.
In this 3-hour workshop (conducted in Malay), we want to help participants appreciate and practise the value of thrift and also to understand the importance of managing their finances, differentiating between needs and wants and living within their means.
The CORE Module provides an overview of the basic literacy skills required to help participants in the management of their daily expenses which aim to open their mindset and start them with good financial habits.
There are 7 Elective Modules which focuses on a specific area of financial literacy with the aim of providing vital information in that area:
E1 – Lifestyle
The aim of this module is to help the participants plan their lifestyle in order to realize the financial targets.
E2 – Home Ownership
The aim of this module is to provide an overview of the various housing policies and legalities surrounding the issue of owning a HDB flat, selling a flat and its implications to a potential buyer and/or seller.
E3 – Credit and Debt Management
The aim of this module is to help participants realize and manage debt.
E4 – Time is Money
The aim of this module is to help the participants manage time efficiently.
E5 – Insurance and You
The aim of this module is to help participants understand the importance of insurance and the various types of insurance policies available, their uses and commitments.
E6 – Planning your CPF
The aim of this module is to help the participants further develop a better understanding of the CPF schemes and policies as part of their retirement planning.
E7 – SCAM (Skim Penipuan)
This module aims to educate participants on what are Scams, how to identify them and what to do when confronted with such scams. By doing so, it is hoped that participants will avoid getting scammed which typically will involve losing a large sum of money.
