About Sense

Social Enterprise Network Singapore (SENSE) is the training arm of YAYASAN MENDAKI. YAYASAN MENDAKI, being the parent company of SENSE, is a pioneer Self-Help Group formed in 1982 dedicated to empower the community through excellence in education, in the context of a multi-racial and multi-religious Singapore. YAYASAN MENDAKI works extensively with partners to design programmes to supplement or complement national initiatives.

Over the years, Sense has grown to become a nexus for many activities and services that seeks to serve the community.

SENSE has established itself as a continuing education and training organisation that supports our nation’s campaign for promoting lifelong learning. It has been our primary objective to equip the workforce with relevant skills and knowledge in anticipation of the uncertainties that inherently exist in today’s job market, coupled with the volatile economic landscape.

Over the years, SENSE has grown to become a nexus for many activities and services that seeks to serve the community. Besides offering a comprehensive array of WSQ courses, and other training programmes, SENSE provide additional services such as employment advisory and opportunities in hiring industries through our Job Placement Exercises (JPE).

SENSE also manages the MENDAKI Tuition Scheme (MTS) to provide quality tuition at affordable rates. Along with a pool of committed and qualified tutors, SENSE aims to provide resources and support for these students to achieve academic excellence.

  1. How do I register my interest for courses?

    You can register your interest on the courses pages. Click on the modules that interest you and submit the form to request for more information. Our programme executives will be in touch with you.

  2. Where can I find the course schedules?

    The course schedules are found in the courses page. Click on the module that interests you and you can find the course schedule on the page.

  3. What documents should I bring to sign up for WSQ courses?

    Please bring along your identification card (IC) and SingPass details and Workfare Training Support (WTS) letter (if any) when you come down to sign up for the courses.

  4. What is the minimum age requirement to sign up for the WSQ courses?

    You need to be 21 years and above to sign up for the courses.

  5. When will I know if the I have applied for is confirmed?

    For Self/Individual Registration, you will receive an SMS reminder (based on the mobile phone number indicated during registration) once the course is confirmed.
    For Corporate/Company Registration, your Human Resource personnel or the officer-in-charge who did the registration on your behalf will receive a confirmation letter from us.

  6. How do I retrieve my certification for the WSQ courses?

    Trainees assessed as competent will receive notification via email or SMS from SSG to view and download their e-Certs after their last assessment.
    With the implementation, all Statements of Attainment (SOAs), Full qualifications and transcript will be in electronic form generated at www.skillsconnect.gov.sg

  7. How can I make use of the SkillsFuture credit when I sign up for courses?

    Visit www.myskillsfuture.sg and log in via your SingPass to claim your SkillsFuture credit when you sign up for course.

  8. What are the different types of funding available?

  9. If I am eligible for the Workforce Training Support (WTS), how do I retrieve my WTS letter?

    You may visit www.workfare.gov.sg and click on “View My Course Fee Subsidy”. After which, log in via your SingPass to view and retrieve your WTS letter.

  10. How do I register for the WPLN Assessment?

  11. When is the earliest WPLN Assessment date?

    You are strongly encouraged to contact our customer care hotline at 6708 6400 to check earliest assessment dates before coming down to register. Alternatively, email ll.learning@msense.sg to check on the available date.

  12. What are the different result levels in WPLN?

    The level ranges from level 1 to level 8.

  13. How long are the results valid for?

    There is not expiry date for the WPLN results.

  14. How can I register for the job fair?

    We will include a registration link on the Events page. Do lookout for our upcoming job fair.

  15. Do I need to register online or can I just walk-in for the job fair?

    We encourage you to register online to avoid long queue at the job fair.

  16. Can foreigners apply for the vacancies available during the job fair?

    We regret to inform you that the job fair is only for Singaporean/PR.

  17. I am interested in coming to the job fair and this is my first time attending a job fair. How do I attend the interviews?

    You will need to register at the resgistration counter. Please bring along your NRIC for registration. Fill up a registration form and proceed to the respective company’s booth for on-site interview.

  18. I missed the recent job fair, can I still apply for a job? How can SENSE officers help me?

    Yes, you may still apply for the job. Email us your resume to careerunit@msense.sg. Indicate the job you would like to apply. If we find you suitable, we will invite you for a pre-screening at our office or a tele-prescreening if you are unable to make a visit. We will then forward your resume to the company for their consideration.

  1. EXECUTIVE (LIFELONG LEARNING)

  2. The job:

    • Day-to-day training administration and operation for WSQ and non WSQ programmes
    • Drives quality and customer service
    • Timely submission of training grants application and training allowances to SSG
    • Work closely with SSG in training grant submission. Ensure that processes and financial policies are adhered to
    • Ensure prompt delivery of reports and analysis especially for grant disbursement and skills connect
    • Check and ensure the required departmental reports are accurate and submitted in a timely manner
    • Coordination, preparation and submission of training documentation for the annual CIR and GCN audit/reviews
    • Provide support to relevant departments to help promote business growth

    Requirements:

    • Diploma holder or GCE ‘O’ and ‘N’ level with direct relevant experience in training organisation may also be considered
    • Strong administrative skills
    • Minimum 2 years in a CET/training industry
    • Familiar with SkillsConnect
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word or PowerPoint)
  3. SALES EXECUTIVE (Temporary position)

  4. The job:

    • Pursuing sales lead (cold call)
    • Assess customer’s needs and suggest appropriate products and services
    • Respond to customer enquiries
    • Perform administration duties

    Requirements:

    • O-Levels and above welcomed
    • Preferably with 2 years working experience in sales
    • Possess strong negotiation and customer relationship skills
    • Independent and meticulous, with strong follow-up
