About Sense

Social Enterprise Network Singapore (SENSE) is the training arm of YAYASAN MENDAKI. YAYASAN MENDAKI, being the parent company of SENSE, is a pioneer Self-Help Group formed in 1982 dedicated to empower the community through excellence in education, in the context of a multi-racial and multi-religious Singapore. YAYASAN MENDAKI works extensively with partners to design programmes to supplement or complement national initiatives.

Over the years, Sense has grown to become a nexus for many activities and services that seeks to serve the community.

SENSE has established itself as a continuing education and training organisation that supports our nation’s campaign for promoting lifelong learning. It has been our primary objective to equip the workforce with relevant skills and knowledge in anticipation of the uncertainties that inherently exist in today’s job market, coupled with the volatile economic landscape.

Over the years, SENSE has grown to become a nexus for many activities and services that seeks to serve the community. Besides offering a comprehensive array of WSQ courses, and other training programmes, SENSE provide additional services such as employment advisory and opportunities in hiring industries through our Job Placement Exercises (JPE).

SENSE also manages the MENDAKI Tuition Scheme (MTS) to provide quality tuition at affordable rates. Along with a pool of committed and qualified tutors, SENSE aims to provide resources and support for these students to achieve academic excellence.

  1. How do I register my interest for courses?

    You can register your interest on the courses pages. Click on the modules that interest you and submit the form to request for more information. Our programme executives will be in touch with you.

  2. Where can I find the course schedules?

    The course schedules are found in the courses page. Click on the module that interests you and you can find the course schedule on the page.

  3. What documents should I bring to sign up for WSQ courses?

    Please bring along your identification card (IC) and SingPass details and Workfare Training Support (WTS) letter (if any) when you come down to sign up for the courses.

  4. What is the minimum age requirement to sign up for the WSQ courses?

    You need to be 21 years and above to sign up for the courses.

  5. When will I know if the I have applied for is confirmed?

    For Self/Individual Registration, you will receive an SMS reminder (based on the mobile phone number indicated during registration) once the course is confirmed.
    For Corporate/Company Registration, your Human Resource personnel or the officer-in-charge who did the registration on your behalf will receive a confirmation letter from us.

  6. How do I retrieve my certification for the WSQ courses?

    Trainees assessed as competent will receive notification via email or SMS from SSG to view and download their e-Certs after their last assessment.
    With the implementation, all Statements of Attainment (SOAs), Full qualifications and transcript will be in electronic form generated at www.skillsconnect.gov.sg

  7. How can I make use of the SkillsFuture credit when I sign up for courses?

    Visit www.myskillsfuture.sg and log in via your SingPass to claim your SkillsFuture credit when you sign up for course.

  8. What are the different types of funding available?

  9. If I am eligible for the Workforce Training Support (WTS), how do I retrieve my WTS letter?

    You may visit www.workfare.gov.sg and click on “View My Course Fee Subsidy”. After which, log in via your SingPass to view and retrieve your WTS letter.

  10. How do I register for the WPLN Assessment?

  11. When is the earliest WPLN Assessment date?

    You are strongly encouraged to contact our customer care hotline at 6708 6400 to check earliest assessment dates before coming down to register. Alternatively, email ll.learning@msense.sg to check on the available date.

  12. What are the different result levels in WPLN?

    The level ranges from level 1 to level 8.

  13. How long are the results valid for?

    There is not expiry date for the WPLN results.

  14. How can I register for the job fair?

    We will include a registration link on the Events page. Do lookout for our upcoming job fair.

  15. Do I need to register online or can I just walk-in for the job fair?

    We encourage you to register online to avoid long queue at the job fair.

  16. Can foreigners apply for the vacancies available during the job fair?

    We regret to inform you that the job fair is only for Singaporean/PR.

  17. I am interested in coming to the job fair and this is my first time attending a job fair. How do I attend the interviews?

    You will need to register at the resgistration counter. Please bring along your NRIC for registration. Fill up a registration form and proceed to the respective company’s booth for on-site interview.

  18. I missed the recent job fair, can I still apply for a job? How can SENSE officers help me?

    Yes, you may still apply for the job. Email us your resume to careerunit@msense.sg. Indicate the job you would like to apply. If we find you suitable, we will invite you for a pre-screening at our office or a tele-prescreening if you are unable to make a visit. We will then forward your resume to the company for their consideration.

  1. Deputy Manager, Marketing & Communications

  2. The job:

    • Plan and develop marketing communication strategies and tactics to boost company reputation and drive qualified traffic to our front door
    • Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own implementation – from ideation to execution
    • Produce valuable and engaging content for press release, website, social media and marketing collaterals to attract and convert our target groups
    • Maintain MENDAKI SENSE brand website and attend to public reviews (daily) on social media platforms, including posting or uploading latest promotions onto various digital media platforms
    • Verify and approve all marketing material (printed & digital) for consistency of branding and message
    • Ensure timely production and delivery of marketing material and electronic direct mailers (eDMs)
    • Perform daily media monitoring on various channels such as websites, social media, prints, search engines, blogs, magazines
    • Experiment with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels like content creation, content curation, pay per click campaigns, event management, publicity, social media, lead generation campaigns, copywriting, performance analysis
    • Analyse consumer behavior, to adjust email and advertising campaigns accordingly
    • Develop SMART key performance objectives to track, review and measure the success of the marketing, communications and public relations programmes
    • Prepare and manage overall budget and monitor progress (quarter & annual basis) to evaluate performance in meeting the financial objectives
    • Support growth and development of direct report/s.

    Requirements:

    • Degree in Business, Marketing or Mass Communication
    • Demonstrable experience in marketing, with a positive attitude towards learning
    • Experience in identifying target audiences and creatively devising and leading marketing campaigns
    • Practice knowledge of online analytics, to optimise online campaigns and use of digital marketing tools (i.e. Google Analytics, MailChimp, Facebook Ads, SEO)
    • Good sense of aesthetics, love for great copy and witty communication
    • Able to manage multiple projects within tight deadlines
    • Where required, able to work beyond normal work hours (i.e. weekends & public holidays)

     

  3. ACCOUNTANT, FINANCE (1 year contract to permanent)

  4. The job:

    • Support Head, Finance on daily financial processing and month-end closing
    • Ensure the accuracy of accounts coding and posting in compliance with regulatory/tax/audit rules and regulations
    • Support statutory requirements such as audit, corporate taxation and GST filing
    • Responsible for variance analysis, intercompany reconciliations, fixed asset register
    • Manage yearly budget, monthly forecast, data migration into new accounting software and ad-hoc tasks assigned by management

    Requirements:

    • Degree in Accountancy or related disciplines with 2 years of relevant working experience
    • Competent in MS Excel i.e. vlookup, pivot table, charts, etc. and MS PowerPoint
    • Able to work in a team of a fast-pace and challenging environment

     

  5. Senior Executive, Policy, Audit & Operations

  6. The job:

    • Perform periodic checks and audits ensuring that policies and procedures are adhered to; and corrective actions are implemented, closed and effectiveness verified
    • Assume Secretariat role in coordination and preparation of Sub-Committee meeting, including minute taking and circulation of papers
    • Collating, checking and circulating the accuracy of data for both internal and external reports
    • Establish and maintain the organisation’s Quality Management System i.e. production of SOPs
    • Review, recommends policies, methods, processes and techniques to improve the department and organisation as a whole

    Requirements:

    • Degree holder of Business Studies or relevant discipline or Diploma holder with at least 5 years of related-working experience
    • Possess internal auditing skills i.e. ISO9001. Exposure with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is advantageous
    • Secretarial/Office Administration skills (intermediate)
    • Able to multi-task and handle tight deadlines
    • Meticulous and organised, with a keen eye for details
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

     

  7. Senior Executive, Education (Sales)

  8. The job:

    • Carry out sales of education enrichment programmes through corporate channels and various marketing efforts (both B2B and B2C)
    • Devise a marketing plan in collaboration with other units to achieve sales targets
    • Write programme proposals and prepare presentations to promote education enrichment programmes to other organisations and schools
    • Provide operational support to ensure educational enrichment programmes run smoothly
    • Provide after-sales support and engagement to customers and clients of educational enrichment programmes
    • Plan and execute events for the purpose of promoting better brand awareness and providing continued engagement of current and former customers

    Requirements:

    • Minimum diploma holder with working experience or degree holder/entry-level candidates in any field
    • Sales experience in education enrichment programmes is advantageous
    • Quick learner with a can-do attitude
    • Possess strong presentation and good interpersonal skills

     

  9. EXECUTIVE, SALES (Temporary position)

  10. The job:

    • Pursuing sales lead (cold call)
    • Assess customer’s needs and suggest appropriate products and services
    • Respond to customer enquiries
    • Perform administration duties

    Requirements:

    • O-Levels and above welcomed
    • Preferably with 2 years working experience in sales
    • Possess strong negotiation and customer relationship skills
    • Independent and meticulous, with strong follow-up
