About the Course

The Employability Skills – Operations level training modules may be taken individually by workers to address specific gaps in current skills, or as a complete programme cumulating to a Career Readiness Certificate (CRC). It comprises 7 competency units across the Employability Skills Framework Level 1. It entails different methodologies and concepts used in various industries such as “Root Cause Analysis”, problem-solving skills, effective communication techniques and more.

Course Structure

- Use appropriate communication techniques that consider social and cultural differences to clarify and respond to information received
- Define the conflict and highlight points of differences /contention objectively, taking into consideration social and cultural differences of parties involved
- Negotiate for mutually acceptable solutions by all parties using effective communication and negotiation skills
- Identify and set individual and team goals
- Identify personal strengths and weaknesses, list the strategies to overcome weaknesses and describe how personal strengths can contribute towards the achievement of team goals
- Recognise symptoms of and deal with stress to maintain work effectiveness
- Access available sources of information to identify global trends and interpret information that impact one’s employability and job role
- Transfer skills and knowledge acquired from training and development to the workplace and measure performance improvement as a result of training and development
- Demonstrate the ability to learn from and coach others a given set of skills from one job situation to another
- Use creative and logical thinking to generate and select ideas to solve problem
- Develop an action plan to implement the chosen solutions
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the implemented solutions and action plan and initiate corrective actions where necessary
- Able to demonstrate innovation and initiative to initiate and sustain continuous improvement at the workplace while identifying, evaluating and managing risks associated with innovating and taking initiative at an individual level.
- Apply effective communication techniques to maintain open communication
- Resolve issues and concerns provide support to team members to achieve individual and team goals while taking into consideration diversity issues
- List personal competencies acquired through learning and experience
- State sources of and interpret information on potential employment opportunities
- Demonstrate basic social etiquette skills and personal hygiene during job interview

A WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) awarded by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) will be issued to you for each module (*if the requirements below are met).
 
*A minimum of 75% attendance is to be achieved and be graded as “Competent” in the assessment/s for each WSQ module.

1Skills Development Fund (SDF) – Singapore Citizens/PR, aged 21 years and above
2SkillsFuture Mid Career Enhanced Subsidy (MCES) – Singapore Citizens, aged 40 years and above
3Workfare Training Scheme (WTS) – Employed Singapore Citizens, aged 35 years and above, earning not more than SGD$2,000 per month
